What a fantastic day at Latimer House it was yesterday. Full of lovely inspiring business ladies and some very informative topics discussed. I particularly liked....
actually it's very difficult to pick a favourite, as they were all good. We had Meera Abbott from NatWest talking about cash flow, Carole-Ann Rice from Real Coaching Company talking about how to get editorial in the paper and magazines, then, Jean Wolfe from Creative Spark Communications talking about how to use a story to get people to buy from you rather than you selling to them. Then it was my debut about how to blog for business. I don't know if many ladies were aware, but it was the first time that I ever delivered a topic at a conference, so to say I was a little nervous, was a bit of an understatement! I was more worried that everyone already knew how to blog, and I was teaching them to suck eggs! But that wasn't the case, as it seems that there were only a one or two who blogged (or owned up to it anyway!) and nearly everyone was going to after I finished! I also promised that anyone who did start their blog, could email the link to me and I would include it in my blog.
After a delicious lunch, and more networking, we got to hear the fabulously dressed Bekki James talk about using your image as a business tool. Then we heard Susan Henderson's interesting and enlightening talk about how people communicate differently and understanding where they are coming from and where you are coming from and how the Myers and Briggs technique can help identify why.
Finally, we had Sally Hindmarch (Partners with You) talk about communicating with flair and she had us standing, sitting and in fits of laughter and we yelled "Yes" every time someone made a mistake!
We all went home with a goody back and head full of inspirational ideas to put into practice in our businesses.
