Having spent most of October in varying degrees of total immobility, to hobbling, then limping and now "I know I'm not walking right, but no-one else does", after injuring myself in a Pilate's class, causing my psouas muscle to strain and go into spasm, which made my pelvis twist, trapping my sciatica nerve, and straining my quad muscle, which in turn went into spasm/shut down, pulling up my knee-cap, leaving me in considerable pain, I can thankfully say that I'm 90% back to normal, thanks to my great osteopath, Catherine McHale and sports masseur, Emma James
My good friend Lucia took me to the osteopath the first couple of appointments when I could hardly walk, never mind drive and brought my younger daughter home from school for the whole week, even though we live well out of the area and out of her way. My older daughter made the breakfasts and packed lunches and their dad took the younger one to school, while the older one took herself by school bus. Thankfully, it didn't affect my ability to provide my usual VA services to my clients, although the lounge became the office for a while, as I couldn't do the few steps up the garden path to my garden office. Indeed, working was a good distraction from the pain I was in, and unless I said, people phoning me probably weren't aware of how bad I was. I feel fortunate to have such a great support team around me who care. Thank you.
As a shedworker, I think you might be interested in my site Shedworking (http://www.shedworking.co.uk) and also The Shed magazine which I produce bimonthly for people who work in sheds and shedlike atmospheres. Let me know if you'd like me to send you a copy (it comes as a free pdf).
